Web Traffic - Are You Getting Enough?

If you own a few websites you probably find it quite amusing some of the approaches you receive from supposed SEO and Web Marketing experts telling you what you need to do to your site to make it more successful when they haven’t even bothered to ask what your target key phrases are.

But in reality they probably do not even need to ask because out of every 100 websites they approach probably 95% plus could really do with some help as they clearly have not been advised correctly for day one. That much is abundantly clear from some of the web designs

Web marketing should start right from the beginning of the site design so that the content captures the most free organic traffic but this is often not the case.

It would appear though sadly that this is not the case because everyday those of us with a better eye and perhaps understanding about the business end of a website come across what can only be described as simply outstanding works of art.

Do web designers (sorry to the conscientious web designers out there, but this is only aimed at the take the money and run brigade) not understand that many of the websites they are commissioned to design are required to produce their owner’s income? Not just be a gallery for their design prowess on line.

I came across a web site just the other day as I was doing some research and clicked on a sponsored ad to check out a website. That looked absolutely fantastic. I could not understand why the page had not come up during an organic search.

The content was excellent so intrigued a checked a little deeper. The site had no page rank, no links, no proper title or description and if that was not bad enough their was actually no text??? It was all graphics.

The web owner was probably pulling his hair out wondering why the only way he was getting web traffic was to pay for adwords.

Personally I think it is a travesty that some web designers can even justify charging a client for an e-commerce site that is almost certainly doomed to failure from day one. And quite frankly I don’t know how they can sleep at night if they are not even taking into account basic Website Marketing needs when developing their sites.
