Be Different: Choose A Themed Wedding
If you do do want the usual form of wedding celebrations, you should ponder a themed wedding. Theme weddings are a great way to get away from the usual and into something which is a lot more fun. You can go for all in theme wedding packages, which cover everything from your flights to rooms to outfits for all the wedding party if the nuptials are to take place out of town or in a far off country But it’s much more fun to plan your themed wedding yourself. And of course you can save money too.
Nothing beats a thought out theme to make your nuptials completely unique and memorable for a fraction of the cost. A wedding theme should tell your guests something about the two of you as a couple and as individuals because that’s what makes it unique. If you both share a love of sports, perhaps a sports themed wedding would be the ideal theme for you. Or perhap you first met on the beach then a wedding on a beach theme might be the perfect choice.
There are hundreds of themed wedding ideas. The only limitation is your creativity.
Below is a list of wedding themes to start you thinking:-
Calla Lily
Camelot
Rock ‘n’ Roll
Greek
Western
Precious Moment
ocean
Golf
Winter
Lilac & Silver
There are lots of points to ponder such whether your chosen venues will accommodate a themed wedding.
The next thing that you have to consider is how far you go with the theme. Much of this will depend on how much it will cost, but don’t forget to think about your guests as well. You and your partner may think it’s fun to ask all the guests to dress up, but will suitable costumes be within their budgets? And are the costumes suitable for all the ages that will attend the wedding? Would your grandmother dress up as an alien if you wanted a Star Trek theme?
But if you’re sure you don’t want to restrict fancy dress costumes to just the bride and groom, make sure you let everyone know your plans and advice on dress code clearly on the wedding invitations, well in advance of the big day itself.
When it comes to selecting themed wedding party favors, the trick to making sure that your guests love their favors is to pick ones that are elegant and appropriate to your theme and yet will be of use after the festivities end.
Once you’ve decided on your wedding theme, you will want to make sure all aspects of your wedding reception reflect your chosen theme, and that includes the table decorations and wedding favors.
For example if you are going to have a nautical theme you could have fish shaped or miniature beachcomber flip-flop placecard holders.
Instead of the usual tuxedo your wedding emcee could wear a sailor’s uniform
The centrepiece for each table could be a miniature lighthouse and blue and white could be the color theme.
Your favors could be starfish or seashell floating candles
The invites to the wedding could be based on of personalized travel brochures.
